Weekend Experience

From curious to confident onboard

From curious to confident onboard - a weekend experience with quality, calm structure, and lots of time on the water. You get practical learning, good company, and the feeling of mastering the boat a little more every hour.

About the Course

To sail a yacht (reasonably) safely, you need to get a few core basics right. In this course, we take them step by step and practice them on the water, so you feel confident onboard, build real hands-on confidence, and enjoy the trip instead of second-guessing every move.

You will get practical experience with:

  • Rope handling, knots, and hitches (yes, there is more than just a "double knot")
  • The boat's key parts and basic sailing terms - so "sheet" doesn't sound like bedroom linen
  • Harbor maneuvers - without sweating through your sweater
  • Hoisting, dropping, and trimming sails - and feeling how the boat "wakes up" when trim is right
  • Sailing on all points of sail: close-hauled, beam reach, broad reach, and run (we promise it clicks once you feel it)
  • Steering by wind and compass - so you hold a clean course instead of zig-zagging from pure excitement
  • Man overboard - both under sail and under power (we train it seriously, but in a safe setup)
  • Safety at sea - so the whole experience feels manageable

You can learn the fundamentals in one weekend. Then you can spend the rest of your life getting even better... and telling your friends you absolutely had everything under control.

Group size: Maximum 4 participants per course.

Benefits of the small-group format:

  • More helm time and real hands-on practice for each participant
  • Fast, concrete feedback during maneuvers and line handling
  • Better overview and calmer execution in harbor maneuvers and safety drills
  • Room for questions, repetition, and individual support throughout the course
  • Stronger teamwork onboard because everyone gets a clear role

Who Is It For?

This course is for you if you are curious about sailing and want to feel at home onboard - without needing to be "a proper sailor" before you start.

It is an especially good fit if you:

  • Are new to sailing and want to learn the basics in a safe, practical way
  • Have joined as a passenger before and now want to do more than hold the coffee cup and say "wow" (even if that is still an important role)
  • Would like to become a good crew member - someone people genuinely want onboard again
  • Want to help with harbor maneuvers without feeling like everyone is watching (they are not... but we know the feeling)
  • Want to understand onboard language, so "ease the sheet" does not sound like a strange riddle
  • Want an active weekend on the water, with laughter, learning, and fresh air

You do not need any prior experience - just the motivation to learn and take part. We keep a calm pace, and there is room for questions, mistakes, and "wait, how did that go again...?"

In short: if you want to try sailing and become more confident onboard, you are exactly in the target group.
